It is recommended to give oral antibiotics 1-2 hours before treatment to prevent infection. In addition, ultrasound-guided injection is recommended to ensure the correct position of the needle. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Ensure that the immediate vicinity of the injection site is sterile by making an area of about 5 cm around the injection sterile. Local anesthesia of the skin around the injection site increases patient comfort. Prepare the six 1 ml Arthrosamid\u00ae syringes by removing the packaging in advance so that they can be easily changed. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Re-clean the knee within approximately 5 cm radius around the injection site. Use a sterile 21G needle with Luer Lock fitting and insert it laterally into the proximal recessus of the knee. Check the correct position using ultrasound. <\/p>

Remove the syringe that may have been used for aspiration, but leave the needle in place. Use a Kelly forceps to remove the protective cap from the 1 ml Arthrosamid\u00ae syringe and ensure that the working field remains sterile. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Twist the syringe firmly onto the Luer closure and ensure that the needle is properly and correctly attached. Press firmly on the syringe to inject 1 ml of Arthrosamid\u00ae into the knee. Repeat this process until all six 1 ml syringes have been injected with Arthrosamid\u00ae. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
